Environment Setup
Import Field Data

Import the text file generated by the field crew (.txt) using the IMPORTPOINTS command in the PNEZD (comma-delinted) format. If the field crew also uploaded a CAD DWG file, import or xref the data into the master drawing.

Update Point Groups

Update the point group to automatically apply styles and setting for specific points. Either right-click on the point group item in Prospector and click "Update"; or run the UPDATEALLPOINTGROUPS command.

Change Drawing To Drafting Scale

Cogo points scale automatically with the current scale of the drafting area. To decrease the size of the points, chose a scale closer to 1" = 1'. To increase the size of the points, move away from 1" = 1' (i.e. points at 1" = 100' are larger than points at 1" = 20').

Boundary Survey
Basis of Bearing Determination

Determine your basis of bearing hold line. Move your linework onto the line. Never move your points (they are tied to a lot of GPS enabled systems).

Basis of Bearing Shown & Drafted

Using the appropriate drafting standards, Depict the two points you used for the basis of bearing. Tie the two points to definable points on the subject lot. Use break lines and curves with smaller drawn radii to assist (still state the published radii).

Property Monumentation

All points along the boundary are shown as being monumented (either found or set). The corners are called out on what they are and any identifing descriptions. Any supporting monumentation is called and tied to the property accurately.

Measured Bearings and Distances

For every line and curve on the property that has at least one found monument, note the measured bearing and distance from the found monument to either the other side's found monument or to the calculated location. Note this bearing and distance as "(M)". If both sides of a line or curve do not have any monuments, change the suffix of the plat bearing and distance to be "(P&M)".

Adjacent Lot Information

The adjacent lot information is updated with the field information. See the Pre-Draw section for further information

Site Benchmark(s)

Topographic Survey
Topographic Harmony

Review all the data received with respect to their elevations. All the elevations should be similar to those around it. If any elevation appears to be exceptionally high or exceptionally low, let a PSM know.

Filter Data

Remove data that may be crowding an area and where there is already sufficient data. Never delete data! Rather utilize the tools provided in your point groups.

Fill Missing Data

Draft Lines and Features

Draft all the located features and lines. Label fences with their height and material. Show any utilities located. Show located above ground wires. If a building, garage, or shed is within 5.00 feet of the property line, show a tie from the closest corner of the structure perpendicular to the property line.

Paper Space
Viewport

Unlock the viewport and change the view to be centered on the subject property and surrounding information. Choose a scale that best fits the lot and information, preferring being closer to a 1" = 1' scale. Ensure no text, symbols, or other relevant data is cut or outside of the viewport. Change the scale in the top-right of the template to match your viewport scale by using the selection attribute (downwards triangle).

Survey Title

To the left of the company logo on the template, take the "BOUNDARY SURVEY" text object and place it right of the logo (in the survey title area) and moved to the top. If the topographic survey section was performed, change the text to read "BOUNDARY & TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY".

Datums

Ensure the Horizontal and Vertical Datum sections are properly filled out. State the held bearing basis in the Horizontal Datum section.

Rest of The Template

If filling out a manual template, ensure the rest of the fields are filled, less the HOUSE MODEL field.
